Fingers tend to be larger in the morning due to overnight fluid retention and smaller in the evening.

Fingers on your dominant hand (the one you write with) are often slightly larger than on your non-dominant hand.

Choose a larger size: if you're between two sizes, if the ring has a wider band, or if your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger.

You can also use a ring size app to measure a ring you already own. Simply place your ring on your phone screen and adjust the guide to match the inside diameter.
